Thor: Love and Thunder trailer, release date, cast, set pictures, and more

I can’t wait to see Love and Thunder in theatres. It’s been five years since the release of Thor: Ragnarok, and this summer it finally arrives. It’s great news that not only is the thor sequel just around the corner but a first teaser trailer has also been released for our viewing pleasure. The Guardians of the Galaxy offer some guidance to a troubled Thor in the film’s first trailer… Natalie Portman makes her triumphant return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jane Foster, carrying Mjolnir in her hands. There are also hints of Russell Crowe’s Zeus.

Everything else you need to know about Thor: Love and Thunder are right here, from the actors to the trailer and everything else we can find out about the story. Here’s all you need to know about Thor 4 before it hits theatres in July:

Love and Thunder release date

Thor: Love and Thunder will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on July 8, 2022. After a series of setbacks, the event will now take place on November 5, 2022 instead of its initial date of November 5, 2021.

Love and Thunder trailer

Once again, Marvel has released a teaser trailer for Thor: Love & Thunder. It shows Chris Hemsworth’s Thor going through some major internal turmoil, with a little help from Chris Pratt’s Star-words Lord’s of wisdom.

A glimpse of Russell Crowe’s Zeus and Natalie Portman’s Jane Foster is also shown in the video, which also includes a look at Valkyrie’s new role as King of Asgard.

Love and Thunder cast

It’s not a surprise who’s at the top of the list. Yep. Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, is once again played by Chris Hemsworth. On his side is Valkyrie, the newly-appointed ruler of New Asgard; (Tessa Thompson). Tom Hiddleston will not reprise his role as Loki in the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War.

Natalie Portman made an appearance on stage at SDCC 2019 as a result of a shocking reveal. A new Jane Foster has been revealed for her comeback to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), but not just Jane Foster. The Mighty Thor will be played by Jane Foster, who may or may not be from another universe, as a nod to Jason Aaron’s famed mid-2010s Thor run in comics. A cancer diagnosis has also been made public recently by Portman. If you need a primer on what to expect from Natalie Portman’s Mighty Thor, check out the comics.

Russell Crowe has joined the cast and stated that he will portray Zeus, so if the two thunder gods do meet, we can definitely expect a lot of lightning.

In addition to Sif, Jaimie Alexander has returned to reprise her role from Thor: Ragnarok, while other MCU characters, like Matt Damon, could be in the works. On Asgard, the actor portrayed a Loki impersonator. Sam Neil, who appeared in the same play as Odin, has also hinted at a possible appearance.

Love and Thunder

Taika Waititi, who played Korg in the first film, will reprise his role as the director. After his debut in Thor: Ragnarok and a cameo in the form of a fight against noobmaster69 in Avengers: Endgame, the rock star is returning for the third time.

In addition to Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel as Groot, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Dave Bautista as Drax, and Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Chris Pratt will appear in the upcoming Thor movie. We’ve seen Rocket Raccoon, so we’re going to presume Bradley Cooper will be returning too. The Guardians of the Galaxy’s Asgardians reappear.

Other than that, do you know anyone else? In Australia, Jeff Goldblum has been photographed with Chris Hemsworth and Tilda Swinton Waititi. Hela’s portrayer, Cate Blanchett’s Hela, Melissa McCarthy has also been spotted on the set as an Asgardian.

Christian Bale, who played Gorr the God Butcher in Jason Aaron’s tenure as the guy who killed out gods across time and space, will face up against the Thors. It was for Odin that he became Marvel’s take on Kratos. There isn’t much to dislike here. Some set images have given us our first look at Bale as the title character, and he’s looking every bit at the comic relief. The villain’s face has since been revealed in a LEGO kit.

As a god-killer, Thor has the capacity to match that of Thanos in terms of power, but it’s also a tantalizing possibility to see how much inspiration the film appears to be borrowing from the pages of the comics. There are already space sharks and Jane Foster’s Thor in the pages of Aaron’s Thor: Love & Thunder (more on that below). What’s the point of adding one more?

 Love and Thunder story

The film’s official synopsis is also included in the first teaser trailer.

“The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey, unlike anything he’s ever experienced — a quest for inner peace,” reads the synopsis. That retirement is disrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who is determined to wipe off the gods.

With the help of King Valkyrie, Korg, and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), Thor enlists the help of Mjolnir-wielding ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Taika Waititi), who, to Thor’s amazement, wields his enchanted hammer as the Mighty Thor.” In order to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it is too late, they embark on a harrowing cosmic adventure together.”

Some Marvel fans are also claiming that Thor is dead and that a mysterious character has been deleted out of a certain moment, too, after watching the trailer.

Is there anything else we can expect from Thor? “Avengers 5 feel,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. In fact, Chris Hemsworth has termed it “one of the best scripts he’s read in years” Accurate? If director Taika Waititi is to be believed, this will be Ragnarok on steroids.

Love and Thunder

According to an interview with Entertainment Tonight, “If you take Ragnarok—which I feel was a really huge, extravagant, bombastic film—we’re aiming to double down on everything we did with that and create something that’s a lot wilder.”

“Might be the best Marvel film ever,” says the filmmaker, which is a huge claim.

During an interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, Waititi hinted that there might not be a Thor 5: The Dark World. “I believe this is more amusing,” he said. We’ve merely quadrupled everything we did for Ragnarok. Who knows whether we’ll do another one after this, but I have the distinct impression that we’ve poured everything we’ve got into it, even the most absurd ideas and gags and characters and stunts. In my opinion, it’s the best. ” According to the film’s director, it’s “the crazyst thing” he’s ever done. “What I wanted to do from the outset was to question ‘What are people expecting the least from this franchise?'” “Oh, yes, a full-blown romance!”

Korg and Space Sharks will also appear in Thor 4, according to Waititi’s Instagram Live video. I don’t think that’s a typo at all. A razor-sharp obstacle to the evil Gorr’s world appears in the Thor comic book in 2013 as a result of the monsters’ appearance in the comics.

Valkyrie’s search for a partner to rule New Asgard will be the subject of another storyline. The king is here. In the event she can’t find a queen, “she’ll just be king and queen at once,” Thompson stated in an interview with ET.

For the time being, speculating is all that can be done. Love and Thunder appears to be following several narrative points from Jason Aaron’s run on Mighty Thor, so it’s worth looking at what could still be in store for the character.

The return of Jane Foster is likely to indicate a few things, although they should be classified as speculation rather than fact. For starters, Thor has proven himself unfit to hold the hammer of gods. In the comics, Jane took up Mjolnir on the moon, and it’s possible she’ll do the same in this film. This isn’t the only possibility, but it’s an interesting one.

We got our first peek of Thor: Love and Thunder as filming was taking place. Fans’ favourite scenes from Thor: Ragnarok are referenced in these images, which hint at a possible sequel. Both Chris Hemsworth’s brother, Luke, and Matt Damon, who plays Loki, have been sighted on set in Australia in their ‘fake’ costumes. It looks that they will repeat their part from Ragnarok’s Asgardian stage production reliving major events from the life of the god of thunder.. On the Jess Cagle Show, Damon explained that he and Luke Hemsworth reprised their appearance from the previous film and had a blast doing it, so director Taika Waititi invited them back. They’ve added Melissa McCarthy as Fake Hela to their ranks.

Love and Thunder
There have been rumours floating around about Jane Foster claiming Mjolnir as her own. When Jane approaches a shrine to Odin, her body begins convulsing in the air as she begins to react violently. Even if all leaks should be treated with a grain of salt, we’ll have to wait and watch how the sequence plays out in the movie to see whether it’s similar to Jason Aaron’s Thor comic run.

Other images, on the other hand, show Thor and Star-Lord together. That’s Chris multiplied by two. While Star-costume Lord’s isn’t too dissimilar from past appearances, Thor is striving for a whole distinct style. Because of his toned physique and his penchant for baring his arms in a sleeveless jacket, he reminds me of Marvel Comics character Thunderstrike, AKA Eric Masterson, who wielded Mjolnir and is frequently conflated with Thor in the comics.

A new cybernetic headgear inspired by Michael Rooker’s Yondu, the character who reared Peter as a child and died in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, can be seen on actor Sean Gunn on set, who plays Kraglin in the films.

Thor and Jane Foster are seen holding hands in a new batch of images, suggesting that the film may go into more depth about their romance in flashback scenes. They’re not back together, but the wigs and costumes they’re wearing give the impression that this is set in the time after Thor: The Dark World when they were dating.

Love and Thunder director

Taika Waititi returns to direct a second MCU film, this time as a producer.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has even aided in Thor: Love and Thunder’s creative process. There was plenty of time to work on the story, as Waititi explains to Total Film magazine’s sister publication.

According to Waititi, “I think it’s good to just keep writing, and then we’ll have a really, really good script.” Love and Thunder are currently being written. With writing, you should make the most of that time because you’ll never get it back later on.,” he says. Every time you’re working in the filmmaking profession, you find yourself wishing for more time. Since we’ve set aside so much time to work on various projects, I say, “why not make the most of it?”

As a result of Thor 4 featuring James Gunn and his team from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, James Gunn has confirmed that he has seen the script. Director Taika Waititi is doing a fantastic job and the script is fantastic,” Gunn said. The two of us discussed where the characters are and where they’re headed before he started writing the script, and he read the script for Vol. 3 while I read his script and provided feedback.
